Bullet-proof hoodies!
After Harriet Harman’s walkabout - can things get any worse on the streets?
It seems they can!
Even I am (almost) lost for words! I spot an article telling me that a London-based company called Bladerunner - known for making stab-proof tops - will be launching this month a product called " The Defender Hoodie ".
And it’s BULLET PROOF. The company website says:
This Hoodie is rugged and tough just like a normal Hoodie but this one has a removable Inner Shell that gives you Ballistic Security at Level NIJ STD 0101.04.
It costs £300 and, according to the manufacturer, offers the wearer upper body invincibility against 9mm Magnum handgun bullets.
The Defender Hoodie is made from a new fibre called Dyneema, which is thinner than the material used to make traditional bullet-proof vests.
Although the company is reported to supply most of these vests to the USA (where gun laws are much laxer than here) there has, apparently, been interest from Brits too!
Ms Harman will likely look most attractive in one of these!

I too was staggered to see this on a TV news item. My guess is that criminal gangs will buy these and believe themselves to be even more invincible than they are now when committing crimes.
Yes, Harriet Harman should definitely purchase one and guarantee her safety in the streets of Peckham.
