An “e-letter” from Bishop’s Move
Yup, it’s really grim out there. The property market woes are going from bad to worse.
This doesn’t come as any surprise whatsoever to me!
I’ve been monitoring the market ever-so closely since the start of the year when the "For Sale" board went up outside my house.
And then, out of the blue a few days ago, I got an “e-letter” from the removal company Bishop’s Move. They look like they are diversifying. Any port in an economic storm I suppose
Welcome to the first of Bishop's Move e-letters.

So it came as no surprise to read in today’s Times that there's likely to be a doubling this year in homes being repossessed due to the inability of the owners to pay their mortgages.
The banks are using the courts to seize people’s properties and the number of court repossession orders in England and Wales in the first quarter of 2008 was an alarming 38,688, a 16% rise on 2007.
The Council of Mortgage Lenders says about 45,000 homes could be seized this year but economists think that could be an under-estimation as it was made before the full horrors of the credit crisis had become apparent.
Could I have picked a worse time to try and sell up and emigrate?
