Oh PLEASE Mrs Blair!
It makes me weep! My sons have both been mugged - twice each - en route home from school. And now we get none other than Cherie Blair bleating on about how she wants “old fashioned values” taught to children – she wants them to say “please” and “thank you” more.
She says
As a parent I am concerned about what's happening when my children are on the street and I know I am not unique in that by any means.
You don't say?!
According to statistics released last week, the number of children - yes I repeat, children - aged under 16 admitted to hospital with stab wounds has sky rocketed by over 60 per cent in the past five years.
A national disgrace. Truly an unutterable disgrace!
Is it any wonder that not only my children want to escape this mayhem but that grown adults (like my Liverpool bus driver correspondent) want to as well?
But hang on a minute. Just who exactly has been in charge of this country over the past 10 years?
Really, you couldn't make it up!

I know it's a cliche, but it always amazes me when people wring their hands in the face of evil.
Here's a link from last year:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/6464853.stm
And here's the quote:
"I think it's a problem in London that's caused by the huge disparity in wealth"
It's not a cultural decline. It's not a lack of male role models. No ... it's inequality.
Assuming that's true, then how do you account for the millions of people throughout history who have taken the most appalling adversities and have behaved honourably?
Isn't it a slap in their faces to behave in such a squishy liberal manner towards criminals?
Unless government (and society, but it's scary) takes control of this, then we are in danger of nurturing a proto-fascist movement within the UK.
I know, my comment is a bit extreme. But have you ever seen the film Fight Club?
Get this:

Regardless of whether you believe that this young man should be permitted to practise as a doctor, what does this say about UK society?
Commit a crime, and the liberal establishment lauds you as a victim.
But don't you dare try to reform your life, because the same bunch will slam the door in your face.
The dirty little secret is that they want people to remain 'victims' of the social order ... they rely on the existence of a disenfranchised underclass to validate their upseide down world view.
