Intermittent postings from now
Today I move out of my house! The emigration process is truly underway now. There will be very intermittent postings for some time, depending on my ability to get near a computer while staying in a rented flat in central London between now and my departure for the Land of the Free, Home of the Brave later in the summer.
Once ensconced stateside I will return - but under a new name - www.helloamericans.com

Good luck on the great adventure. I came to the US in the fifties with my husband (part of the brain drain, I guess). It has been well worth while -- though of course there were times when I missed the UK tremendously (heart-rendingly, in fact). I am sure you well realise that the US has its problems too, but it also has a culture and a population that is, by and large, optimistic, welcoming and polite. I have been very well treated in this country and it has had a great and salutary effect on my outlook on life. Best wishes to you and your family.
